Karridene February     24-26 Feb

For once we enjoyed a perfect weather weekend. Lately it’s a case of what do you get after 2 days of kak weather – Monday!
We had an excellent turnout of 16 families. Obviously this is a much liked park and cheap – R45 pppn!

We had a new couple from Emgangeni join us – Phillip and Debbie Holtzhausen . A warm welcome and I hope you enjoy the Freewheelers lifestyle. They are jumping in at the deep end- camping wise- as they are joining Frans and Lyn on a month long jollie to Namibia in April.
It was nice to have Chris and Doep Downs with us again. They have transferred down from Standerton to Durban so we’ll see much more of them at Getaways. Usually they had about 600 km to travel home after a getaway and now they were the closest – no more than 8kms !

Friday evening a few of the mob headed for the local watering hole, what we know as Dieters. This has changed  but it will forever be known to us as Dieters . We watched the Sharks get beaten and then drowned our sorrows with 1lt beers ! (genuine) and a 3 course meal of the day for R35 !!!. A lekker singalong and dancing ended the night.
With the perfect days, a lot of time was spent in the pool, hydrating oneself and generally chilling. Our intrepid fishermen tried hard but with little success. Others enjoyed the local nursery. A nice rustige day

The perfect day turned into a lovely evening for a great braai . Johan and Sandra Emmenis donated some marinated blesbuck chops from one of his hunts and everybody tucked in.

Sunday was another chill out day , swimming in the pool and finally dragging ourselves to pack up and leave.

The Jonsini jaunt is happening with a few families making the long trip. Let’s hope we are successful in getting that big tiger!
Ilanga

I haven’t had any response or queries for this getaway so nothing has been planned or booked – however see below.

EASTER  6 / 9 April

Ilanga
Bruno and Cathy and Rob and Lyn will be at Ilanga for Easter. I’m sure that there will be space at the park if anyone would like to join them. Book the park directly.

Midmar
I and a few others will be at Morgenson at Midmar for the Easter weekend. I’ll hopefully be there for a few days earlier as well during the school holidays, if I can get leave. Anybody wishing to join us please contact me and I can give you our site numbers and you can then book directly as well.


We have a beautiful LOOONG weekend at the end of April – PLEASE ADVISE urgently  – Where would members like to go!
